ABOUT MIA.

MY STORY.

Mia started playing guitar at age 7, while growing up in Washington DC. She moved to Michigan to study with renowned guitarist, Randy Napoleon, whose fingerstyle approach has greatly influenced her playing.

Mia earned her Bachelors at Michigan State. During her time there she gained performance experience playing alonside musicians such as Rodney Whitaker, Sean Jones, Tim Warfield, Dwight Adams, and Michael Dease .

In 2024 Mia received a grant from the College of Music to arrange and recorded For Astrud, and toured with Dan Wilson as a part of MSU’s Jazz Nonet’s. In 2025 she was accepted into the prestigious Keep an Eye Workshop at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam where she was able to learn from musicians such as Kendrick Scott, Lage Lunde, Matt Brewer, and Anat Cohen.

In 2026 Mia won the Niagra Falls Jazz Festival guitar and vocal performer awards, and was accepted into NYU for graduate school as a student as well as an adjunct guitar instructor. She continues gigging and teaching in Michigan, before moving to New York in August of 2026.
