Mia Chinni started playing guitar at age 7, while growing up in Washington D.C.. They moved to Michigan to study with renowned guitarist, Randy Napoleon, whose fingerstyle playing has greatly influenced their playing. As well as under the guidance of program professor, Rodney Whitaker.
Through opportunities atMichigan State, Mia gained experience going on tour with the likes of musicians such as Rick Roe in 2025 and Dan Wilson in 2024.
In 2024 Mia additionally recieved a grant to arrange and recorded a record dedicated to Astrud Gilberto, which will be out shortly.
Mia has been playing guitar for 14 years, and has performed in a diverse variety of venues since starting out; from coffee shops to concert halls. Mia also has 2 years of experience teaching lessons. She currently gigs and teaches around Michigan while finishing her studies.
